Emergency water outages occur when our team has to temporarily pause service to complete emergency repairs — for example, addressing a water main break or major leak. When this happens, crews work hard to restore service as quickly and safely as possible. The time it takes to restore service varies and depends upon the repairs required.
As American Canyon continues to invest in and improve local infrastructure, there are certain projects that may require planned water outages. While we try to avoid service interruptions, they are sometimes necessary in order to address certain repairs or improvements. Before any planned maintenance outage, we'll notify affected customers with the date, anticipated duration and a point of contact for any questions or concerns.

We know it is difficult to be without water and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Here are some things you can do to minimize the inconvenience of planned outages:
After water is restored, we recommend you turn on a cold water tap (preferably an outdoor line or a bathtub) and let it run for 5–10 minutes or until the water runs clear. This helps flush out any air, sediment or cloudy water in your plumbing system.
