Parks & Community Services Master Plan Update

The City of American Canyon’s Park and Recreation Department serves the community by providing parks, open spaces, facilities, and a variety of recreational programming. To ensure these spaces and programs continue to meet the needs and priorities of our residents, the City initiated an update to its Parks and Recreation Master Plan in September 2024.

Since that time, the City has conducted a comprehensive planning process that included reviewing previous plans, evaluating existing parks and facilities, and engaging the community through outreach, education, stakeholder interviews, and surveys. This input has helped inform a plan that responds to how residents use parks today and how the system can continue to grow and adopt into the future.

The Draft Public Parks and Recreation Master Plan will be presented at the Joint Special Open Space, Active Transportation, and Sustainability Commission, and Parks and Community Services Commission on April 1, 2026 as part of the public meeting process. The community is encouraged to participate in this public process to provide feedback, which will help inform the final plan prior to consideration by the City Council. Following public review, the final plan is anticipated to be considered for adoption by the City Council on June 16, 2026.

The webpage will continue to provide updates throughout the process to share opportunities for community input.
